(August 12, 1999) Teachers.Net has a great Web Tools page that is geared toward educators. Included on the page are links to a web site manual, development tips, web writing guides and more. Visit the page at http://www.teachers.net/tools/

Teachers! There's a slew of material out there on the web to help you develop your own web pages. Create pages for your school, your classes, etc.

Some things to remember:

  • Make sure your school has an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for students accessing and working with the Internet. Also make sure you follow it.

K-12 Acceptable Use Policies

  • When posting digitized photos of your students, make sure parents are aware of it and approve of it. Never use last names of students or teachers!
  • Let the students do most of the work. :)

Here's some great places to get started:

TAMU Web Beginner’s Corner - from Texas A&M University

The Teacher's Internet Use Guide - from the University of Colorado
